The method “Data Mining” is completely independent of the used operating or file system and it is based on the knowledge of the internal structure of the sought file. The majority of the used formats contain defined correlations, which more or less reliably inform of the file type. By a sequential analysis of the individual sectors of the data media, and based on the conformity with the set structural templates, it is possible to recover usually all non fragmented files, even deleted ones.

Using Data Mining, it is also possible to recover data from media with intense physical damage or with (for example) completely deleted file systems. The only presumption for a successful result is recoverability of at least part of the data on the hardware level.
